PORTRAIT COMMISSIONS:
Portrait, landscape and still life commissions may be accepted. The first step in the process is the completion of the “Commissioning Form”, which will be available on this site in the near future.
WORKSHOPS & LECTURES:
Wayne Edwards may be available for weekend workshops/lectures.
TUITION:
Painting & drawing classes for both hobby and professional artists. View “Art School By the Sea” and “Timetable and Fees” brochures for details. Small classes guaranteed, modern comfortable studio with new equipment, relaxed environment and no exams. Places are limited so advanced bookings are essential.
ART CRITIQUE SERVICE:
The amount of time needed to critique a piece of work can vary from 10 to 30 minutes depending on a number of factors. Therefore, a set rate of $30 for a critique within that timeframe.
A second critique on the same piece of art is $10. Normally a second critique is concluded within 15 minutes.
Works are critique under one of the following categories: Hobbyist, Student, Advanced Student & Professional. The level is nominated by the client. The different levels determines the critical nature of the advice, however in all critiques the positive aspects of the painting are highlighted as well as suggested areas for improvement.
Critical areas for discussion are: composition, technique, intended audience, correct light source and shadowing, intended narrative and drafting.
PROFESSIONAL PRACTICE:
One hour consultation $75. The topics covered include: How to price your artwork, options for selling your art, writing an artist statement, how to present your art to galleries, alternative venues to galleries, website development options, labelling and cataloguing.Specific subject(s) charged at $75 per hour. Consultation subjects could include the above topics in detail. Other topics may include: Commission and contract writing, critical analysis of website or business plan, art mediation and dispute resolution, making a presentation to a dealer, gallery or art collector, writing or rewriting an artist statement.
UNIVERSITY ART SCHOOL ENTRY & ART CAREER ADVISORY:
A one hour session $75 for either service. Advice given would be in response to a conversation about personal goals and aspirations. Advice would be offered regarding general entry requirements fine art and graphic art courses.
EXHIBITION GUEST SPEAKER:
If artwork images and briefing notes are received via the internet and the event is within the Port Sorell-Devonport-Sheffield-Burnie area, the rate is $150. No fee will be charged for charity events.
